Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information The Way collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We aim to collect the minimum needed to make the app work and to keep your data secure.

Who we are

The Way is a mobile application operated by Secupeer Technologies ("we", "us", "our"). We are the data controller for personal information collected through the app.

Information we collect

We collect only what is needed to operate the app:

• Account information. Email address and (for accounts created with Google Sign-In) your Google account's basic profile.
• Request information. When you submit a request, we collect the full name, optional phone number, and the details you provide about what you need help with.
• Attachments. If you choose to upload a file with your request, we store it. Accepted formats are PDF, JPEG, PNG, and HEIC, up to 5 MB.
• Tracking number and timestamps. Each request is assigned a tracking number and stamped with the time it was created and last updated.

We do not collect device identifiers for advertising, location data, contacts, photos beyond what you explicitly attach, microphone, camera without an action you take, or browsing history.

The app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics.

Why we use your information

We use the information you provide to:

• Create and maintain your account.
• Receive and process the requests you submit.
• Allow our authorized staff and the mentors who work with us to review and respond to your requests.
• Communicate with you about the status of a request, when you ask us to.

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to train machine-learning models.

How long we keep your information

We keep your account and the requests associated with it for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account from within the app, we delete:

• Your authentication record.
• Your user profile document.
• All requests you have submitted.
• All attachments you have uploaded.

Service providers

We use Google's Firebase platform to host the app's backend: authentication, database, file storage, and serverless functions. Firebase processes data on our behalf as a service provider and is bound by Google's data processing terms. Information about Firebase's privacy practices is available at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

We use Google Sign-In as one of the optional ways to create an account. If you sign in with Google, Google's privacy policy applies to the data Google collects about your sign-in.

Data is processed and stored in the United States.

Your choices and rights

You can:

• Access and review the requests you have submitted, from the Home tab.
• Delete your account at any time, from the Settings tab. See Account Deletion.
• Email us at thewaywehandlethings@gmail.com with any question about your data or to request a copy.

Security

Data in transit is encrypted with TLS. Data at rest in Firebase is encrypted by Google. Access to backend records is restricted to authorized administrators via Firebase Security Rules. No method of electronic storage is perfectly secure; if we ever detect a breach affecting your information, we will notify you.

Children's privacy

The Way is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make a material change, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of The Way after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
